Your journey will take you directly to the heart of Cusco, where you will explore its lively streets and fascinating history. You'll continue your trip into the majestic Sacred Valley, visiting its traditional villages and archaeological sites. The tour culminates with the awe-inspiring sights of the spectacular peaks of Machu Picchu.
This program was designed as a solid base, from which you can **customize your stay**. To extend the adventure, many options are available to you: exploration of the sites of **Maras, Moray and Chincheros**, a trek to one of the Rainbow Mountains of your choice (**Vinicunca, Palcoyo or Pallay Punchu**), or a discovery of the sublime **Humantay Lake**.
Pick-up from Cusco airport and transfer to your hotel (accommodation not included).
This first day is dedicated to discovering the city of Cusco, its central market, and its local products.
You will visit the Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral (entrance ticket not included), and the Qorikancha temple (entrance ticket not included), also known as the Temple of the Sun.
After a self-catered lunch at a traditional Peruvian restaurant, you will explore the Inca sites of Sacsayhuaman, the fortress overlooking the city, Qenqo, a religious site with rock-carved labyrinths, Puca Pukara, and Tambomachay.
A self-catered dinner at a local restaurant will conclude the day before you go back to your hotel to rest.
A full day dedicated to discovering the majestic Sacred Valley.
You will first visit the archaeological site of Pisac, then its artisanal market, where you will find local souvenirs.
It will then be time to hit the road towards Ollantaytambo.
On the way, you will stop in Urubamba where you will enjoy a buffet lunch at a local restaurant.
Upon arrival in Ollantaytambo, you will explore its fortress, a masterpiece of Inca architecture that served as both a fortress and a religious center.
Early in the morning, you will leave for a day trip to Machu Picchu, the "lost city of the Incas".
You will take a guided tour of the archaeological site and will have the option to climb Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain (optional).
Upon returning to Aguas Calientes, you can enjoy some free time to eat and bathe in the village's hot springs (ticket not included).
The tour will end with your return to Cusco for a transfer to your hotel or the airport (depending on your travel plans).
