Vinicunca mountain, nicknamed "Rainbow Mountain" or "Mountain of 7 Colors", was revealed to the tourist world around 2015. Considered an "Apu" (sacred mountain spirit) by local Quechua communities.
The journey from Cusco takes about 3 hours by car or minibus. Once at the starting point, a 3 to 4 hour round-trip hike awaits you from the parking lot to the summit located at 5,200m altitude. Horses are available for rent for about 60-80 PEN.
Palcoyo offers three distinct colorful mountains as well as a fascinating "Stone Forest". This destination remained unknown until 2017. Its landscapes, although less saturated in colors, are no less spectacular.
The trip from Cusco takes about 4 hours by road. The walk to the colored mountains is easy and lasts only 30 minutes from the parking lot, at an altitude of 4,900m. Vehicle access is possible almost to the site itself.
Nicknamed "Striped Mountain", Pallay Punchu was discovered by travelers in 2019. Its unique geometric pattern evokes the motifs of traditional Andean textiles, creating an exceptional natural spectacle.
The trip from Cusco requires about 5 hours by road, followed by a 1-hour walk from the starting point. The site is located at 4,700m altitude in the Langui valley. The road offers magnificent panoramas of Andean landscapes.
