Chicama is a small coastal town famous worldwide for its long and consistent waves. It attracts surfers of all levels every year in search of the world's longest left-hand wave, which can exceed 4 kilometers with favorable swells.
The unique configuration of Chicama Bay, combined with Pacific weather systems and ocean currents, creates a point break wave that peels over an exceptional distance. The deep seabed maintains the shape and length of the waves all the way to the coast.
